Lifeguard scheduling and staffing
Poolean lets lifeguards see their shifts and clock in from their phone. Staff can ask for coverage, and managers review those requests and record their approvals in Poolean.
What you can do
- See upcoming shifts with the date, pool, and time range.
- Clock in when a shift starts, and see how long you have been on the clock.
- Use Call in / late on the schedule screen to report a call-out or a late arrival.
- Post a shift for coverage, and track your coverage requests.
- Managers review coverage requests, record approvals, and see open call-outs and the upcoming roster.
- Open the guard home screen for the pool status, to-do list, shift time, and pass-down notes.

Who uses it

Questions
Can a lifeguard clock in from their phone?
Yes. The guard starts the shift from the home screen. The app then shows the clock-in time and how long they have been on the clock.
What if a guard cannot make a shift?
The guard can use Call in / late on the schedule screen, or post the shift for coverage. Managers review coverage requests and record approvals in Poolean.
What does a guard see on the home screen?
The pool’s open or closed status, a to-do list with the chem test, skimmer check, and patron count, the shift time, and notes from the last shift.
Who sees staffing across several pools?
Regional managers see staffing across the operation, including open call-outs and the upcoming roster. Supervisors see the pools assigned to them and check attendance.
